Instructions:
Prepare Neem Oil:
Neem oil is a potent insect repellent and fungicide. You can find it at garden centers or online. Ensure you are using a pure, cold-pressed neem oil for maximum effectiveness.
Prepare Garlic Infusion:
Crush several cloves of garlic.
Add the crushed garlic to a container and cover it with water. Let it steep overnight.
Strain Garlic Infusion:
Strain the garlic-infused water to remove the garlic solids. You can use a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth.
Mix Neem Oil and Garlic Infusion:
In a separate container, mix neem oil with the strained garlic-infused water.
The ratio can vary, but a common mixture is 1-2 tablespoons of neem oil per gallon of water. Adjust based on the severity of pest issues.
Add Liquid Soap:
Add a few drops of mild liquid soap to the mixture. The soap helps the mixture stick to plants and pests.
Stir Well:
Stir the mixture thoroughly to ensure the neem oil, garlic infusion, and soap are well combined.
Fill Spray Bottle:
Transfer the mixture to a spray bottle for easy application. VIVOSUN 1 Gallon Pump Pressure Sprayer
Application:
Spray on Plants:
Apply the neem oil and garlic spray to both sides of the plant leaves, focusing on areas where pests are present.
Ensure the mixture reaches the pests directly.
Repeat as Needed:
Use the spray every 7-14 days or as needed, especially after rainfall or heavy watering.
Stop using the spray a few weeks before harvesting to ensure no residue is present on the produce.
Note:
Always perform a patch test on a small section of your plants to ensure they don’t have adverse reactions to the mixture.
Apply the spray in the early morning or late evening to avoid harming beneficial insects.
Shake the spray bottle well before each use to ensure an even mixture.
